Warm is the winter with wines from Srijem

The beautiful Danube, smoked carp, Ilok barbecue, mulled wine, tour of old wine cellars – warm indeed is the winter wit wines of Srijem. And when combined with the festivity of St. Vincent in the vineyards of Ilok and Srijem the experience is quite a memorable one. This old folk-cum-religious custom takes place every 22 January and involves a blessing ceremony, pruning of the first grape-vine which is then decked with sausages and bacon and basted with wine. All this is accompanied with the sound of tamburitzas and a great deal merriment of all present who the proceed to enjoy a hearty nourishment of roasted sausages and bacon chased down with wine.
The admirers of good wine will enjoy a ride down the Ilok wine road along which the oldest private cellar is located, where they’ll be able to savour the wine and home made cold cuts and rolls. The old cellars of Ilok in which you can savour the finest wines, such as Graševina, Chardonnay, Traminer or the predicate wines, with a bite of bread and cheese, is a veritable haven fro wine lovers and all the followers of hedonism. Enjoy the nature, the wine, learn how to make quince cheese, and experience all the beauty and joys of St. Vincent festivity.

Lunch in a vineyard, cellars of Ilok; ride along the wine road; tasting of wines and home made specialities; enjoying the company of hosts, listening to the stories about customs and preparation of delicacies of Srijem.

This is a package tour of 1-3 days. The all-inclusive programme of activities for a 3 day package covers the following: day 1-3. – activities in the area of Ilok and Vukovar. The package is available from 1 December to 31 March for groups of 2 to 50 people. Accommodation is provided in households and in the 3* and 4* hotels in Ilok and Vukovar. Transport can be one's own or by micro or minibus organized by us. Professional guidance available in Croatian, English and German, at request in other languages.
